Minutes of January 27, 2016

Call to Order

The chapter meeting of Phi Beta Lambda, Zeta Alpha Lambda Chapter was called to order on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at 7:17 p.m. Vice President Joe Allison called the meeting to order with Secretary Dylan Kennedy recording the minutes

Attendance

Roll was taken by Secretary Dylan Kennedy via sign-in sheet.

Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer Rebecca Ott reported a chapter balance as of January 2016 of $1,942.62. The report was filed.

Unfinished Business

None

New Business

Vice President Joe Allison announced that a list of competitive events will be going around the room and members interested in competing at the State Leadership Conference on April 23, should sign up for events after the meeting. If absent for the meeting members should contact President Cory Herzog or Secretary Dylan Kennedy in the events that they are interested in.

Vice President Joe Allison reported that he is currently looking for speakers to come to the meetings. Please contact him if you have any suggestions.

Secretary Dylan Kennedy reported a list of FBLA district competitions for the chapter to assist. The three dates are Friday, February 5; Friday, February 12; and Tuesday, February 16. Members that signed up for each are listed below:

Friday, February 5, located at Three Rivers in Poplar Bluff

Each member’s availability will be sent to the lead adviser, Theresa Taylor. *Note any time you help out at a conference you must be in professional dress. A description of that will be located on the national website.

Secretary Dylan Kennedy announced that Jackson FBLA has asked PBL to attend their meeting on Wednesday, February 3, at 2:50 pm. The members interested--Tyreek Williams, Kyle Amelunke and Brandon Szarek—will have their emails sent to Jackson adviser Theresa Taylor.

Treasurer Rebecca Ott reported that the FBLA district grading went very well and the $500 will be split and go on to the accounts of the ones who worked.

Treasurer Rebecca Ott reported the good feedback on the surveys and drew for the gift card of the members who participated in the survey. The winner is Dylan Ashley.

Treasurer Rebecca Ott reported the semester dues are $30 and are due by February 24.

Rebecca Ott moved to reimburse Tyreek Williams for $8.32 of membership expenses. The motion was seconded and passed.

Rebecca Ott moved to reimburse Tyreek Williams for $30.11 for gas to the St. Louis Blues game social. The motion was seconded and passed.

Melissa Stephens moved to reimburse Rebecca Ott $5.00 for the purchase of a gift card. The motion was seconded and passed.

Announcements

Next chapter meeting will be Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Please be in professional dress.

Please sign up for events as soon as possible.

For the membership challenge from last semester (bring a friend and have your name in a drawing for money to be put on to your account) the winner, Dylan Kennedy, was drawn. The membership challenge will carry on to this semester so be sure to bring your friends!
