About Sigma Tau Gamma - Alpha Phi Chapter
Sigma Tau Gamma was founded in 1920 at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri by veterans of World War I. They were men of the American Middle Class, working their way through school, determined to succeed. One hundred thirty one chapters and 80,000 men later we still hold true to our traditions; modern American men who want to get together and want to get ahead. On December 6th of this year, the Alpha Phi Chapter will be celebrating our anniversary of being a chartered fraternity at Southeast.
We were the first fraternity at Southeast and have survived through good times and bad. The men of Sigma Tau Gamma set out to create an exciting challenging atmosphere within the Greek community that provides lifelong friendships, an opportunity for good times, but without losing sight of our academic endeavor. Just as intramural sports and social functions are a part of our fraternity, so too are the study hours. As a new associate and a member, you will always be responsible for your study hours before any other fraternal obligations.
Sig Taus learn that each man contributes something different. We learn to respect those differences and to respect each other as men. As brothers, you will work together and play together, while developing skills in leadership, democracy, and teamwork. Do not make a decision you will regret. Dare to accept the challenge of Sigma Tau Gamma.
